The Lake Serene POA office is located inside the clubhouse at 256 West Lake Road.  Office Hours are Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Lake Serene POA Security can be reached by calling 601-408-7687.  Covenant Security is contracted by Lake Serene POA to provide services of patrolling the common areas, help close out events at the pavilion and clubhouse, and enforce the rules of the LSPOA.  For issues on private property, please contact Lamar County Sheriff's Department at 601-794-1005 or by dialing 911 in case of emergency.  

 

LAKE SERENE BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATION

Before beginning any building project, you must complete the building permit application process.  Simply read over the building specifications, print out the permit application, attach any pertinent drawings, list of materials, etc. and either drop by the office or email to lakeserene@gmail.com

Lake Rules For Watercraft, Fishing, and Skiing

  • Boats shall not exceet 21' in length with the exception of pontoon boats which are limited to 28' in length.
  • Boats with "heads", latrines, galleys, or chemical toilets are prohibited from the use of the lakes.
  • All watercraft must conform to current Coast Guard regulations.
  • Absolutely all skiers and jet skiers will wear a life vest or a life belt at all times.  There are no exceptions. If you fail to do so, you will be asked to leave and your lake privileges can be revoked for the remainder of the year.
  • No person under the age of 14 years will operate a watercraft unless an adult is aboard (21 years or older).
  • All watercract must use right-hand pattern of lakes.
  • Skiing and jet skiing is permitted from sunrise until sunset on Main Lake only. NO SKIING AFTER SUNSET.
  • Skiers and watercraft are ont allowed to be launched or loaded at the swimming area or piers, and all watercraft and skiers must keep a 50' distance from all docks unless docking.
  • Watercraft must have a current Lake Serene decal attached and displayed on the windshield or bow.  All launching vehicles must have current decal attached in appropraite place, the left rear bumper or back left glass.
  • All watercraft are to have proper equipment to prevent any obnoxious sounds.
  • Trot lines are prohibited at all times in the areas of the main lake.  All trot lines shall be removed from all lakes during daylight hours and must not be left unattended.
  • Fishing is not permitted in the open skiing and swimming areas in the main lake while ski boats are in operation.
  • All boats in fishing lakes shall  not exceed 5 miles per hour (create minimum wake).
  • No houseboats are allowed in the lakes.
  • Swimming is prohibited around any of the controls to the dams and/or locks.
  • Only property owner association members in good standing, their dependents as defined in the by-laws, and their guests may use the facilities (such as boat ramps, picnic area, parking lots, and swimming areas),
  • No hunting or discharge of firearms is allowed on Lake Serene property.
  • For non-individuslaly owned lots (those owned by companies, corporation, etc.), one natural person must be designated in writing as the member (see By-Laws Amendment 1 approved by the membership March 13, 1976).
  • Any violations of the rules for lake use are subject to the fines described in Article II Section I of the By-Laws (approved by the membership March 13, 1975).
  • No alcoholic beverages are permitted. 
Beach Rules
  • Guests must be accompanied by a Lake Serene member in good standing.
  • No alcohol allowed.
  • No glass containers allowed.
  • NO DOGS OR ANIMALS OF ANY KIND are allowed on the beaches.
  • No swimming past buoys.
  • No foul language or abusive behavior will be tolerated. 
  • No cooking on decks or gazebo areas.
  • No diving off piers or gazebo.
  • Place garbage in provided receptacles.
  • No sitting on swinging on the shade sails.
  • No parking on the beach areas. Park in designated parking areas.
  • No watercraft in swimming areas.
  • Noncompliance in the above rules could result in security asking members/guests to leave the area.
